Advantages of 3-Way Valves

Increased Versatility:
With the ability to mix, divert, and bypass fluid flows, 3-way valves offer greater control and flexibility than 2-way valves, which can only open or close a single flow path.

Efficiency Improvements:
The precise control offered by 3-way valves allows for more accurate flow regulation, resulting in improved system performance, energy savings, and reduced operating costs.

Simplified System Design:
By using a single 3-way valve instead of multiple 2-way valves, the overall complexity of your system can be reduced, leading to fewer potential leak points, easier installation, and lower maintenance requirements.

Compact Design:
Many 3-way valve designs, such as ball and butterfly valves, are compact and space-saving, making them an ideal choice for installations with limited space or where weight is a concern.
Types Of 3-Way Valve
T-Type 3-Way Valve:
The shape of the T-Type valve resembles a "T." This valve features three openings in the shape of a "T." The valve body contains a ball or plug. It handles controlling the flow.
L-Type 3-Way Valve:
The L-Type 3-way valve resembles the letter "L." Like the T-Type valve, it has three openings. The ports in this type are in the shape of an "L." This valve uses a diverter or plug to control the flow.
Mixing 3-Way Valve:
The mixing 3-way valve blends different liquids or gases. It has three ports, one of which contains a mixture of fluids. The other two ports have fluids from two sources.
Body: The main pressure-containing structure, often made of brass, stainless steel or other robust materials. In RuB valves, the body is precision-machined for tight tolerances and excellent sealing.
Stem: Connects the handle or actuator to the ball and enables its rotation.
Sealing system: Comprising seats and O-rings, seals ensure fluid-tight operation. Bonomi Industries utilises high-quality materials to maximise chemical compatibility and pressure resistance.
Thread connections: Valves' terminals are threaded for standard pipelines.
Handle or actuator interface: Manual versions are fitted with a lever, while versions with ISO 5211 flanges can be automated using pneumatic or electric actuators.

Best Raw Materials for a 3-Way Valve
Brass:
Brass is a popular choice for valve bodies and components. It is easy to manufacture and contains the best sealing properties. These properties make it suitable for 3-way valves.
Stainless Steel:
Stainless steel has high corrosion resistance and durability. It is often applicable to corrosive fluids. Stainless steel is also suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride):
PVC is a plastic material common in valve construction. It is lightweight and cost-effective. PVC valves are commonly used in water applications and for non-corrosive fluids.
Cast Iron:
Cast iron is very durable in industrial valve applications. Cast-iron valves are commonly used in pipelines, heating systems, and industrial processes.
Bronze:
Bronze is ideal for marine and plumbing applications. Bronze valves are suitable for applications involving water, steam, and certain chemicals. It is another popular raw material for 3-way valves.
PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene):
PTFE is a synthetic fluoropolymer. It is renowned for its applications in valve seats, seals, and other components. PTFE can endure corrosive fluids or chemicals.
