A one-way valve, also known as a check valve or non-return valve, plays an important role in the car system. Its main function is to control the exhaust gas involved in combustion, which helps protect the environment, reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides, and maintain the power output of the engine. The design principle of the one-way valve allows the fluid to flow in one direction only to prevent backflow. In hydraulic systems, it prevents the oil from flowing back; in pneumatic systems, it prevents the backflow of compressed air.
The one-way valve not only protects the oil pump from the sudden increase in pressure in the system, but also ensures that the oil in the system does not flow back to the tank when the pump stops working. In addition, it helps to separate the oil circuit to avoid mutual interference. When combined with other valves, the one-way valve can form a composite valve to achieve more functions.
When the one-way valve is connected in parallel with a throttle valve or a pressure reducing valve, it can adjust the flow rate of the fluid, slowing down the flow rate in the forward direction and quickly flowing in the backward direction. If it is connected in series with a pressure valve, the pressure can be gradually increased and adjusted to avoid the reaction of pressure.
Once the one-way valve in the oil circuit of the car is damaged, a series of problems will occur. For example, it may lose its non-return function and become a pressure valve, causing the fuel to flow back into the tank after the vehicle is turned off, making it impossible to establish the initial oil pressure, thus causing starting difficulties. In diesel vehicles, the one-way valve is usually located near the tank to control the backflow of the medium and ensure that the internal pressure of the system is stable when the shearing machine is in operation, otherwise the plate may not be cut correctly.
